tfal&chi is a movement dedicated to sharing top quality, practical and relevant information and advice to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. We embrace the importance of a healthy lifestyle on a myriad of health outcomes, morbidity and mortality. 

As Africans living in the diaspora we have seen the impact of poor health on morbidity and life expectancy among our peers and others. We understand the challenges of balancing work, raising children and caring for our family in the US and abroad. Many a times preventive health, regular exercise and wellness initiatives are not prioritized often leading to symptom-driven engagements with health care. The additional challenge of changing a life long,  carbohydrate, and sugar-heavy way of eating remains an issue for most.

We believe that when people understand the importance of having the “5” at goal they are empowered to engage in prevention initiatives and discussions with their health care providers.

Healthier diets and exercise will impact all 5 of these targets in addition to pleiotropic effects on mental health, other physical illnesses, cancer risk and on a cellular level- inflammation.
